The New Mexico Jazz Sessions
"It's all about the songs. I fell in
love with songs as an art form (life form?) as a young child.
They have accompanied me throughout my life. I respect them and
try my best to serve them."
Anthony Lewis brings over 30 years of professional musical experience to this project. Having traveled the world performing and covering almost every musical style at one time or another, he returns here to the music that he grew up on- the Standards. In his own words, "I think I've finally developed and matured enough to follow my long-time dream of singing Swing and Blues. I feel like I'm taking the first steps on a long and challenging odyssey where the voyage itself is the destination".

Musicians on this recording:
Stuart MacAskie piano
Stuart MacAskie is one of New Mexico's busiest and most respected jazz
musicians. He's also an accomplished composer, arranger, producer and
band leader with performing, teaching, writing, and recording talents
that are in constant demand.
Brandon Draper drums/percussion
Brandon started drum lessons at the age of 5 and was sitting in with
bands at 9. He began playing professionally at the age of 14 in various
blues bands with his father a professional Hammond B-3 player.
Currently Brandon calls Albuquerque home. Besides being a busy gig and
session drummer, he also teaches and composes.
Luis Guerra bass
Luis Guerra is one of the most talented and sought-after jazz bassists
in the Southwest. Currently based in Albuquerque, he regularly performs
and records throughout the western US.
